2nd Physiotherapy

Posted by diligo on December 6, 2007

Reported for my 2nd physio session today. My therapist is on MC today…and the other therapist took my session. Still is hell of a pain trying to bend my knees past 90 degrees…

Okay, today’s routine…stretching for warm and then today they added weights to my leg raises…5 lbs no big deal, right? Strap it on your leg and ask you to do 20x leg raises…and the muscles really feel it..

Saw a couple of ACL patients today, got one person who did the operation on the same day as I did…but that guy kinda poor thing, his swell still have not subsided…From my understanding , it seems that he did not follow the rehab protocol…icing of the knee, the 3x daily set of exercises, vis. vis.

Anyhow, after talking to him, seems that it is not his 1st ACL reconstruction…Seriously, I really hope this is one operation that I won’t have to do again!!!

On another note, saw another guy coming in for his senior rehab class, he is running on the treadmill, big deal right? But not to me, I envision that I will be able to do that light running in 4 months.

The reality is don’t rush it and do my daily rehab exercises and nothing more, I do not want to risk re-injury and set the return back to sports back to zero….As CheeKoPei would tell me sometimes, time to fly to the carpark…I can still recall a particular  cheese pie FI shouting that almost 10 years ago in the police academy. How time flies and no thanks to those back to JI ROW squat kicks…it must have done my knee harm more than strengthening the muscles.

I will update again on the physiotherapy session 2 weeks later…my rehab seems to be good enough that they are giving me one week off. Still hardly make a difference, I still have to go for Stitches Removal next Wednesday…I can’t wait for my 1st proper bath without a plastic bag around the knee…can’t wait!

Strangely too, today I bumped into one old schoomate at the hospital, he told me he got his acl torn during basketball….very common injury indeed..
